MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- Morrisville State College cut the ribbon on its brand new Equine Rehabilitation Center.
The multi-million dollar center is located on about 100 acres just west of the college campus. It includes state of the art equipment to help rehabilitate horses, including an indoor swimming pool, an underwater treadmill, a 40,000 square foot riding arena and more.
But it's not just about rehabilitation for the animals. The center serves as a classroom too.
"It provides the students with the opportunity to have hands on with a wide range of equine therapeutic equipment. Our facility is very unique. There are not very many of them. It's actually one of the few in the northeast even," said Karin Kohl, Morrisville State College Equine Rehabilitation Center Manager.
The facility will also work with local veterinarians, allowing vets to refer horses to the center for rehabilitation.
