SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Schuyler County man is accused of growing and selling hallucinogenic mushrooms. Jeffrey Clougherty, 42, of Hector was arrested following a joint investigation by the Schuyler and Seneca County Sheriff's Offices.
Authorities executed a search warrant at Clougherty's home on Mount Road. They seized a large amount of finished mushrooms, along with several totes of spores that were being grown.
Clougherty is charged with third, degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and investigators said more charges are pending.
He was sent to the Schuyler County Jail on $25,000 bail.
