PORTLAND, ME - The Binghamton Mets won their first road game of the season 5-1 Thursday night and spoiled the home opener of the Portland Sea Dogs.
Starter Collin McHugh struck out six batters and allowed only one run in six and two-thirds innings of work for his first win of the season.
Josh Rodriguez hit a ground-rule double with the bases loaded in the third inning to break the game open. Binghamton (3-3) scored all five of its runs in the first three innings and held on for their third win of the year.
Zack Wheeler will take the hill in game two of the series Friday night.
