PULASKI, N.Y. -- There were no injuries reported in a fire that tore through a home at 4010 Port Street in Pulaski.
After a passerby spotted smoke, firefighters from departments throughout Oswego and Jefferson counties rushed to the scene.
There was heavy damage and there is no immediate word on what caused that fire.
"Not sure exactly where the fire started, but we've heard that it started on the first floor, come up, went into the second floor. When I came here, there was heavy smoke, heavy flames coming out of the second story window," said Pulaski Assistance Fire Chief Scott Redden.
The biggest challenge for firefighters was finding enough water to pour on the flames. There were fire hydrants nearby, but they had to be supplemented by water carried in pumper trucks called to the scene.
