ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. – Both drivers have been ticketed in a head on crash that occurred on East Thompson Road at Carrier Circle Tuesday morning.

William Butnam, 39, was ticketed for failure to yield the right away and Lonnie Casolare, 43, was ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt.

Dispatchers say the crash happened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday in front of Joey's Restaurant. Witnesses told deputies that Butnam was pulling onto East Thompson Road when he pulled into the path of a Jeep driven by Casolare, causing her vehicle to strike a telephone pole.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, but we don't know the seriousness of their injuries.

The road was shut down for part of the day as police investigated the accident.
