SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Gas prices continue a slow rise in the Syracuse area. The average price for a gallon of gas is at $4.08 in this area. That's 22 cents higher than the same time one year ago.

The national average stands at $3.90. Analysts said supply is up and crude prices are down, which both slow down increasing gas prices.
