UTICA, N.Y. – There is another sad update on an animal abuse case in Utica. A sixth dog taken from an apartment has died.

On Tuesday, an animal control officer discovered three dead dogs and five others left to starve to death at an apartment on Whitesboro Street. They were a mix of adult pit bulls and puppies.

Only two dogs are still alive, one adult male and one puppy. They are being taken care of by a local veterinarian.

The dogs' owner, Umar Aziz, 22, faces numerous charges, including multiple counts of animal cruelty.
