WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Job seekers flocked to the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena for the 2012 Job and Career Expo. This was the first time the event has been held at the Arena.
More than 80 employers took resumes and conducted interviews for about 1,500 people.
The Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce has organized the job fair for more than a decade and participants say the new venue helped bring out the largest crowd to date.
"This has been a great turnout and there’s a real diverse bunch of employers here today. We have a couple of new ones, such as the Marriot Fairfield (Hotel), which is going to be opening in the spring, they’re here recruiting for those brand new jobs,” said Cheryl Mayforth, Executive Director of the Jefferson Lewis Workforce Investment Board.
YNN was a proud sponsor of this year's fair.
