ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- St. Lawrence County officials will not grant a name clearing hearing for the former St. Lawrence County Emergency Services Director, who resigned in January after concerns regarding his performance were brought to the Board of Legislators.

Marty Hassett requested to withdraw his resignation on his final day, but the request was not accepted by the board. County Administrator, Karen St. Hilaire, said Hassett sent a letter last week to the county attorney. The letter requested a hearing to give Hassett a chance to clear his name.

Hilaire says the hearing will not be approved. She says there is no need for a hearing as Hassett resigned and was not terminated.
