SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Whether it was the loss of Fab Melo or not, SU had to claw its way to a victory in their first game of the NCAA Tournament this afternoon.
Despite being down for a good chuck of the game and behind at the half, the Orange avoided being the first ever number one seed to lose to a 16 seed.
SU wins the nail-biter by seven points, 72 to 65 over UNC-Ashville.
