ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Police continue to search for answers involving the death of a young boy in Potsdam.

Garrett Phillips, 12, died Monday afternoon at the North Country Apartments on Market Street. Police are not releasing much information surrounding his death.

At A.A. Kingston Middle School, where Phillips was a sixth grader, grief counselors were on hand for students all day and will be available again Wednesday. School administrators say discussing the child's death with his fellow students is difficult because there are so many unanswered questions.

"We don't know a lot, which makes it a little more challenging to try to get the message to students and to answer their questions. We told them what we did know and told them we were going to be there for them if they needed it," Potsdam Superintendent Patrick Brady said.

Potsdam police say they will hold a news conference Wednesday to release more information in the case.
