ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The investigation continues into the crash of a double-decker bus last weekend into the CSX rail bridge over the Onondaga Lake Parkway. That crash claimed four lives.
The state Department of Transportation has now repaired the only damage done to the bridge in that crash. A portion of the reflective strip used to enhance the low bridge's visibility at night was replaced.
The state DOT says it is now studying various measures to try to reduce the chances of an accident at the Parkway bridge. Currently, there are a number of signs warning drivers of tractor trailers and other large vehicles. The driver of the Megabus involved in last Saturday's crash says he didn't see the signs.
