New housing for homeless
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Fourteen new homes will be built for the homeless in Ithaca. Tompkins Community Action has received $2.7 million toward the project.

The funding comes from the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. The new project will serve single women and women with children who are in recovery from drug and/or alcohol abuse.

Named Magnolia House, the project will consist of studio units for permanent housing, as well as on-site supportive services.
