WINDSOR, N.Y. -- Around 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, police received a 911 call from Benjamin Button of 503 Kent Street. Police say he and the other person living in this house, Jean Clark, had been shot by Anthony Carnevale and his wife, Ashley.

"The Carnevales went to the residence, apparently for drugs. And the violence transpired as a result of that," said Lt. James Barnes, State Police Investigator.

When police arrived, they found Button and Anthony Carnivale in the front of the house. Button had a wound to his back, Carnivale to his torso.

"Mr. Button was shot initially. There was a struggle over the weapon and Mr. Button was able to shoot the assailant to protect himself," said Lt. Barnes.

Troopers then found Clarke dead in the bedroom with gunshot wounds in her head and chest. The two men were taken to the hospital and police began the search for Ashley Carnivale. Police say she left her husband at the house and went to her parent's home in Kirkwood.

"We responded to the location. She was there and taken into custody without incident,” said Lt. Barnes.

Ashley Carnevale is being held at the Broome County jail without bail. She's charged with second-degree murder. Her husband is still at the hospital, under state police watch.

A court date for Carnevale has not been set.
