SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SU football team is grooming freshman Ashton Broyld to play both quarterback and running back during its 2012 spring camp.
Head coach Doug Marrone calls Broyld a "playmaker" and a dynamic runner with a strong arm for throwing the football. Broyld excelled at both traits while leading his high school team to the NYS championship in 2010.
The Orange held their first open practice of spring camp Saturday afternoon in Rochester and won't be visible to the public again until the annual Spring Game April 21st.
