The Cornell men's hoop team suffered its first homecourt loss in almost two years Friday night when visiting Seton Hall upended the Big Red 89-79.

Cornell opened the game on an 8-nothing run, but the Pirates responded and took a 5-point lead at halftime.

SHU extended the lead to 18 points in the second half before holding off a late Big Red rally to win by ten. Ryan Wittman had 24 points in the loss and Seton Hall junior Jeremy Hazell led all scorers with 33.

The Pirates became the first Big East team to visit Newman Arena and the first visiting team to win there since the Colgate Raiders on December 1, 2007.
