Training Week 13: Sharon BuMann

Training Week 13: Sharon BuMann

I have been focused on swim techniques and sucking in my abs. I feel oh so taller (really and truly)! I have been in the water every day, each day a different venue. One at the the pool at the Y, one open water, and one at an outdoor pool. I did 40 minutes of constant moving and not just thrashing for my life, mind you, kick drills and fingertip drags, catch-up, and fist drills. Someday I am going to be good at this. I just hope I live long enough. I am still having fun regardless!

By the way, thank you Sarah Bettinger for inspiring my best ride ever, could not have done it without you. She is "one fast mamma"! I was determined to keep my eye on the orange T-shirt (sort of like the "yellow jersey" of "tour" fame) Needless to say when she started passing other riders, I had to get"crankin' ". It worked out well.

My runs have gone from "way too slow, old lady style" to "not too fast..." a BIG improvement!!!

I have to take this time to Thank the Fleet Feet training coaches for their patience, support, encouragement and the laughs. I speak for myself and I believe many others, we could not have done this without you!!! In the beginning I just wanted to get a chance to do the Iron Girl at Oneida Shores, maybe drop a few pounds, and get a little bit fitter. Today, even before my first "Tri," I am looking for the next, and the next, and the next. I feel 30 years younger, trimmer, and 20 miles on my bike IS NO BIG DEALl! Oh, yes and I can almost swim. This "Old dog has learned sooooo much, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING... I am planning on hooking-up again next year! (who knows, maybe a 70.3????? is in the future)
