Syracuse men's and women's lacrosse teams cruise

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Down 2-1 to Rutgers in a must-win game on Saturday, the No. 13 Syracuse men's lacrosse team went on a 12-0 run and never looked back en route to a 19-6 victory in the ESPNU Warrior Classic.

Derek Maltz scored a career-high four goals--all in the first quarter--and Tommy Palasek recorded a career-high-tying six points on three goals and three assists for the Orange, which improves to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in Big East play.

Syracuse next plays at longtime rival Hobart Tuesday night.


SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The No. 2-ranked Syracuse women's lacrosse team stayed red-hot on Saturday with a 22-11 demolition of No. 14 Georgetown.

Kailah Kempney and Devon Collins each scored five goals, Michelle Tumolo added three and five assists, and Alyssa Murray had three of each for the Orange (10-2 overall, 4-0 Big East), which has won nine games in a row with six of them being against ranked opponents.

Syracuse next plays at No. 15 Cornell Tuesday night.
