SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Home runs and stellar pitching led the Syracuse softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Seton Hall on Friday with the Orange winning the first game 2-0 and the second 5-3 in nine innings.
Jenna Caira struck out 11 batters in the opener and back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning by Jasmine Watson and Lacey Kohl provided the offense. In the second game, Stacy Kuwik struck out 12 batters over 8 innings of work and Carey-Leigh Thomas hit a walk-off two-run homer to win it.
Syracuse (23-9) plays the Pirates again Saturday starting at noon.
