LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- A woman hurt in last month's deadly Megabus crash in Liverpool filed a lawsuit against the company Friday seeking damages.
According to the Associated Press, Candice Burks, 26, of New Jersey, has permanent physical and cognitive injuries after suffering severe head, neck and back trauma in the crash.
Four people were killed and more than 20 others hurt when the double decker bus hit a low bridge on the Onondaga Lake Parkway on September 11th while traveling from Philadelphia to Toronto. The driver, John Tomaszewski, told police he failed to make a planned turn to get to the regional transportation center and that he never saw the numerous signs warning of the low bridge.
Burks is suing Tomaszewski and the two companies that own and operate the bus for more than $50,000.
