ALBANY, N.Y. -- Day number 11 in the federal corruption trial of former Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno wraps up. The prosecution called more witnesses Tuesday as it prepares to wrap up its case against Bruno sometime this week.

Bruno is accused of failing to disclose potential conflicts of interest with companies who were pursuing legislation.

Disclosure was the focus of trial proceedings Tuesday, as Bruno says he relied on attorney advice for his outside work.

"In almost everything I did, whether it was employment contract, whatever, I ran by the legal system in the Senate, the lawyers," Bruno said.

Bruno's former executive assistant once again took the stand and when cross-examined by Bruno's lawyers, said she filled out and submitted forms based on legal advice and didn't necessarily understand the wording in the documents.

Former chief counsel for the Senate Republican Majority Kenneth Riddette also testified. He said he and two other Senate staff lawyers advised Bruno's secretary about what information to include and omit from the senator's annual financial disclosures about outside business interests.

Bruno said he was pleased with Tuesday's testimony.
