It's the holidays and for some you, you may want to shop until you drop, but if you are not careful, the stress can get to you. Marcie Fraser has more.

Making children's wishes come true cost a lot of money, a lot of energy and add up to a lot of stress.

Manage stress with a plan.
"Try to stay ahead of the holiday schedule by preparing a list, try to stay on track and with what you can expect and what might happen. Keep the list simple with high priority," said James P. Kelleher, M.D.
Expectations need to be kept in check.
Kelleher said, "Sometimes, in the minute to minute, everything becomes maximally important and what is important is understanding what are the key elements of this successful holiday season, relax, enjoy time celebrating with others, give."
Unmanaged stress has been known to wreak havoc on your body.
"Eat less, sleep less, more stress."
"For most people, the stress in holidays are seen in difficulties with relationships and emotional problems and in extreme cases lead to increase risk factors, increased cardiovascular problems and including stroke," Kelleher said.
Stress can bring on anxiety and depression, keep an eye out for friends who may be at risk.
"If you find people are not showing up to events they are supposed to be, as frequently as they should, it might be an opportunity to reach out," Kelleher.
Mange your holiday stress by not drinking or eating too much, keep exercise in your daily activity and don't forget to think about others.
