Air conditioning in your car is a great escape from the high temperatures of the summer; unless it's no longer blowing cold air.

The repair bills can be very expensive, especially if you need replacement components. If you just need a recharge there are new do-it-yourself methods that can save you money and help you chill out too.

There are new simple solutions that anyone can perform in just seconds without the expense.

Step 1: Find the service port and remove the cap. Locate the vehicle's A/C low-side service port. If you're not sure where it is go to their website and they'll show the exact location for your car.

Step 2: Turn your engine on and set A/C to MAX cool.

Step 3: Determine if the compressor is on. If it doesn't engage, see your favorite ASE certified technician to see if it needs replacement.

Step 4: Attach quick connect to port and follow the directions.

Step 5: Read the pressure of your system and follow directions.

Step 6: Shake can well, squeeze the trigger to dispense contents into the air conditioning system. Check the pressure periodically.

Step 7: Complete the charge by disconnecting the hoses from the service port. If there's any left in the can, save it for another time or any vehicle. This system will seal common A/C system leaks as well as help protect and extend the life of the components.

If you still think this is complicated, there are videos online to show how simple it is to use.
