Jets pick up Tim Tebow
NEW YORK -- As if things couldn't weren't interesting enough in New York, Tim Tebow is coming to the Jets.
This is supposed to be football's off season. But we've witnessed a whirlwind of activity the past week.
The Jets announced they were out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, then promptly signed their own quarterback Mark Sanchez to a surprising extension.
Manning announced Monday that he was signing with the Broncos, meaning a change in address for Tebow.
Tebow was one of the biggest stories last year not just in the NFL but in all of sports.
He came off the bench to lead the Broncos to the playoffs with several last minute comebacks.
These comebacks, plus Tebow's public displays of his spirituality and faith made him a household name far beyond the realm of sports fans.
His name even became a verb "to Tebow."
New York fans got a taste of a similar mania last month with the onset of Linsanity, Jeremy Lin's surprising ascendance with the Knicks. And now Tebow.
What does the Tebow trade mean for the Jets still young quarterback Mark Sanchez?
Last week he was given a new contract. Now he's been given a new teammate. Tebow in New York. This will be better theater than anything on Broadway.
