Trafficker of oxycontin powder arrested
OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- A year-long investigation in Otsego County leads to an arrest of an alleged major drug trafficker.
The county sheriff’s office arrested Dante Major, 35, of Hobart, who they said acted as a director of an organization trafficking oxycontin powder.
Investigators first discovered the powder during two different house searches in the county last year. Further investigation led them to Major, who now faces drug and trafficking charges.
Major had been convicted of two felonies prior to the arrest and if found guilty on the current charges, he could be looking at 15 years to life in prison.
He's being held on $750,000 bail. Investigators said more arrests could be made.
