LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. -- A Little Falls woman has been charged with murder, but state police say the victim may have asked her to kill him.

The body of Francis Nelson, 74, was found dead along Eatonville Road near the border of Little Falls and Herkimer Tuesday morning. His hands and feet were tied.

Police say Jennifer Riesel, 28, intentionally ran Nelson over, causing his death.

Riesel told police Nelson asked her to kill him in exchange for money. Others have also come forward saying Nelson previously asked them to do the same.

State Police say the two often frequented the same club.

"There is a small club called the German Manacore on Main Street in Herkimer. And I believe that the victim is the president, he's certainly at the club frequently. And our defendant also goes to the club," said New York State Police Captain Mark Lincoln.

Police say Riesel was allegedly set to receive about $180,000 in exchange for the killing. She has been charged with second degree murder, but if it's determined Riesel was helping Nelson commit suicide, the charge could be lowered to manslaughter.

According to Riesel, Nelson said he had a terminal illness, but police have not been able to confirm that.
