SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A child is hospitalized after being hit by a truck in Syracuse.

Police said an 11-year-old boy was hit on the 600 block of Butternut Street just after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The boy was taken to Upstate University Hospital with a head injury that was not considered life-threatening.

According to police, the child ran into the path of the vehicle and the driver is not being ticketed.
