GEDDES, N.Y. -- The Town of Geddes is taking a serious look at a proposal that the town supervisor believes will draw in business and plenty of drivers.

Delta Sonic has filed an application with the town to build a car wash and gas station at Fairmont Center on Genesee Street. It would also have a convenience store on site.

Delta Sonic would demolish the existing plaza building and build a new one farther away from the nearby homes.

A community meeting was held Tuesday night to discuss any concerns with the plan.

The town supervisor says the biggest issue will be the impact on traffic flow, which he says will be addressed by a DOT study.

The town has been working on the proposal with Delta Sonic for about a year and a half.
It must now go through the zoning process.
