ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two women were taken to the hospital after a serious crash in Baldwinsville.

An SUV and car collided on Route 31 around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The SUV wound up in a ditch and firefighters had to tear the roof off the other vehicle just to get the driver out.

Both women were taken to Upstate University Hospital. One is in critical condition.

State Police are hoping someone witnessed the accident.

"There may have been some individuals who preceded us to the scene here that subsequently left without leaving information about who they are so we are asking the public if anyone does have information about the cause of the accident or they were an eyewitness to the event if they would please call us at our Lysander barracks," said New York State Police Captain Jeffrey Raub.

And if you do have more information, that number to reach State Police is (315) 638-8200.
