ITHACA, N.Y. -- Four days after laying their loved to rest, friends and family of Corporal Christopher Bordoni got together to continue the healing process with a little food and live music.

The Chords for Chris fundraiser was held at The Haunt in Ithaca. A 50-50 raffle, and other events raised money for a fund in Chris' name.

Family members said it's been a rough few weeks, but with the community's help, they're starting to move on.

Bill Korherr, Chris' Father in Law said, “We've shed a lot of tears, we've had a lot of agony and heartache, but now it's finally time to get back to normal the best we can and move on. And I'm hoping today will do just that."

The 21-year-old died two weeks ago from injuries suffered in a January attack in Afghanistan. Other fundraisers are planned in the next few weeks as well.
