SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- More than 250 people busted out their tuxedos and vintage dresses for the first ever Prom Night fundraiser for the McMahon-Ryan Child Advocacy Center in Syracuse.

And this prom wasn't for the kids. The 70s and 80s themed event was for adults. It's part of the Child Advocacy Center's capital campaign and all the money raised goes to support their programs.

The center says the idea was to do something different and fun to raise money. They hope to bring in between $35,000 and $40,000 from this event alone.

The Child Advocacy Center has served more than 400 children since opening its doors last summer.
