ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The former Waterville gym teacher found guilty of sexually abusing a student will spend the next three years behind bars. A jury found David Lemery guilty of second degree course of sexual conduct against a child back in May.
Lemery was a gym teacher at Memorial Park Elementary when a former student, now an adult, says he molested her from kindergarten through fifth grade.
He was found not guilty of the top count against him, course of sexual conduct in the first degree, but was convicted on the lesser charge.
Lemery was sentenced Wednesday in Oneida County Court.
