ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating the desecration and theft at a cemetery in the Town of Trenton.

Vandals entered the Evergreen Cemetery sometime over Memorial Day weekend. They knocked over a headstone belonging to a veteran who had served in both World Wars and Korea. The suspects also stole a second headstone dating back to the Civil War era.

The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help in identifying who did this and in recovering the irreplaceable headstone. If you have any information, you're asked to contact them by calling (315) 896-2985. All calls will be kept confidential.
